It’s a new dawn!
After
a long time of thick cloud and there is rain, the cloud is clear and after the
night, there is always the morning, A New Dawn! That seems to be the story of
Ekiti Parapo UK as we just rose from the stormy moments of our election.
A
new kilometre stone was reached as Ekiti Parapo UK wishes to formally inaugurated
its newly elected Executive Council following a series of election and
supplementary election and a period of intense internal engagements. The
election, which reaffirmed the mandate of our immediate past President and
other executive members, marks a renewed chapter of service, unity, and
progress for our association and for Ekiti sons and daughters across the United
Kingdom and those back home.
Under
the leadership of the Com. Olamide Idowu, whose first tenure witnessed
unprecedented transformation—including the expansion of the association beyond
London to a fully UK-wide body, the establishment of a functional website, a
digital radio platform, improved visibility, and the introduction of
developmental programmes—we stand ready to build on these achievements with
deeper commitment, fresh ideas, and a team of competent, passionate, and
visionary executives as listed below:

RESTORING LOVE, UNITY & PURPOSE
Ekiti
Parapo UK was founded on our timeless values of Omoluwabi, collective
strength, and a shared heritage as Ekiti people. While recent events created
tension and temporary division, our renewed mandate reflects the overwhelming
desire for stability, love, and unity among our members. What binds us together
is stronger than whatever tends to divide us.
The
new administration extends an open arm of reconciliation to all members who
genuinely wish to return home and contribute to the progress of our dear
association. We believe that growth is faster when we stand together, guided by
mutual respect, transparency, and a deep sense of responsibility to one another
and to our homeland, Ekiti.
RECOMMITMENT
TO DEVELOPMENT & IMPACT BACK HOME
Our
vision for the next tenure is firmly rooted in measurable impact—both in the UK
and in Ekiti State. We will intensify efforts in:
Ekiti
Parapo UK is not just an association; it is a movement committed to leaving
lasting footprints of progress.
CLARIFICATION
ON THE BREAKAWAY FACTION
In
the course of the election, a small group of individuals—driven by personal
interests—attempted to destabilise the association by forming a parallel
association using our identity. Let it be clearly stated:
Ekiti
Parapo UK remains one united, legally recognized, and constitutionally
structured body.
Any
attempt to impersonate, duplicate, or undermine this association is a direct
violation of our constitution and will be responded to decisively.
While
we maintain a posture of peace, unity, and reconciliation, we equally owe our
members a duty to uphold the integrity of this association. Therefore:
Our
commitment to unity must not be mistaken for tolerance of acts that seek to
destroy what generations before us have laboured to build.
A
NEW ERA OF TRANSPARENCY, STABILITY, AND PROGRESS
As
we step into this new phase, the Executive Council assures all members of:
We
call on all well-meaning sons and daughters of Ekiti in the UK to join hands
with this new administration as we build an association that reflects pride,
dignity, unity, and purpose.
Ekiti
Parapo UK is stronger today than it has ever been.
The journey ahead is bright, and together, we shall move forward.
