Ekiti Parapo UK, the socio-cultural organisation representing Ekiti indigenes in the United Kingdom, has congratulated the First Lady of Ekiti State, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, on her elevation to the professorial cadre at the University of Ibadan, describing the achievement as a remarkable milestone and a source of pride for Ekiti State.

Professor Oyebanji has been elevated to the position of Professor of Institutional Administration, Leadership, Quality Assurance in Education, and Human Resources Development, marking a significant milestone in her academic career.

In a congratulatory message during a press briefing, The President of the association, Com. Olamide Idowu described the achievement as a testament to her dedication to scholarship, intellectual development, professional excellence and service to humanity.

The organisation noted that her elevation goes beyond a personal accomplishment, serving as a powerful source of encouragement to women, young people, aspiring academics and professionals who seek to excel in their chosen fields while contributing meaningfully to society.

According to the PRO of Ekiti Parapo UK, Tunde Oluwasimirin in his own remark, the timing of the achievement makes it even more significant, coming just days before the historic inauguration of her husband, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for a second consecutive term on October 16, 2026. The governors re-election marks the first time in Ekiti States history that a governor has secured consecutive electoral mandates.

The organisation through the spokesperson described the convergence of these milestones as a remarkable season of celebration for the Oyebanji family and the people of Ekiti State, symbolising the value of perseverance, excellence, public trust and purposeful leadership.

“We celebrate Professor Olayemi Oyebanji with immense joy and admiration. Her elevation to the professorial cadre is a well-deserved recognition of her academic journey and commitment to excellence. She has given Ekiti people another reason to be proud, and her achievement stands as an inspiration to generations of women and young people who aspire to make a difference through knowledge, hard work and service.”

Ekiti Parapo UK further expressed the hope that her new academic position would provide greater opportunities for impactful research, mentorship, educational development and contributions to national and international scholarship.

The organisation also extended its goodwill to Governor Oyebanji ahead of his second-term inauguration, wishing the governor and the First Lady renewed strength, wisdom, good health and divine guidance as they enter this new chapter.

It expressed optimism that the coming years would bring greater development, prosperity, unity and opportunities for the people of Ekiti State.

The message concluded with a renewed expression of pride in the First Ladys achievement and a wish for continued success in her academic career, public service and personal endeavours.

Ekiti Parapo UK celebrates Professor Olayemi Oyebanji and wishes her greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
