DO YOU THINK YOU ARE WORRIED?
“A’n’Worry.” Remember? Does it sound like something you’ve read or heard before? Absolutely, it should, especially if you are one of my followers here. I did compose a piece, titled, “In Loving Memory of Baba A’N’Worry”. It was borne out of a session of reflection on the subject of the hydra-headed monster called “Worry”. Why did our forebears live much longer than the people of the present age? William Shakespeare once warned, “To thyself, be true”. Do you think you are worried for some reasons?
There are more people warring frantically against the silent killer, called “Worry”. You won’t even observe that someone very close to your nose is dying gradually. You live together, dine together, wine together and worse still, go together to the same worship center, yet, an underlying malignant program is running, like the Trojan malware that kills softly, the beneficial software: files, folders and vital applications (bile, liver, kidney) and all of a sudden, “The man died!”, right?
The truth is did he truly die suddenly? Hadn’t he been dying gradually under the heavy weight of the murderous malady called “Worry”, without anyone taking cognizance of it? Why are certain terminal diseases more prevalent in today’s world than it was in the days of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents? Do you now see the sense in the philosophy of “Baba A’N’Worry”, that I told you about in a recent piece?
You are proud to tell anyone who cares, of how your parents or grandparents died at good old age of 90, 105, 89, 101. What do you say of the direct contrast that you hear or see around you today? “Excuse me, Mr. Morack, you see, I’s not all about being worried or not being worried, there are more reasons people die!” did you just say that? Do you also think being worried has sent more people to an early grave in today’s world than in the older generation?
Do you think you can avoid being worried in this present world? Do you think our world would look better, with you living longer with your loved ones, if you put to death this “Minister of death”? Are you worried? Don’t answer me till you finish reading this thesis. The following are effects of being worried:
• A churning feeling in your stomach.
• Feeling light-headed or dizzy.
• Pins and needles.
• Feeling restless or unable to sit still.
• Headaches, backache or other aches and pains.
• Faster breathing.
• A fast, thumping or irregular heartbeat.
• Sweating or hot flushes.
Are you worried?
