All About
May 2024 Press Release.
Dear Esteemed Member,
As a registered member of Ekiti Parapo UK, a registered non-political and non-religious socio-cultural charity organisation of our people in the United Kingdom promoting Ekiti cultural heritage and supporting one another as we face several challenges living in foreign land, we do contribute the sum of one hundred and ten pounds annually as membership fee.
However, the President, Comrade Olamide Idowu has recommended a review of the annual contribution to accommodate its affordability for new members who might just be settling down in the country, students and pensioners.
We also want to write-off all the debts owed by our members up till December 2023.
He also proposed a mandatory five pounds monthly for every registered member subject to its approval in a general meeting.
As part of the proposed changes to promote love and unity among Ekiti people in the UK, the President added that a Pound-Plus Agenda Contributions will be launched to help our people here.
Many UK new arrivals from Ekiti need genuine support in terms of the orientation into a new system, getting jobs and settling down in different areas depending on individuals purpose of coming to the UK.
We support our people back home and intend to increase our charitable engagements with Ekiti people starting from registered members in the UK.
Recently, Ekiti Parapo UK joined Divine Motivation for Positive Impact Initiative, DMPIIs Easter feeding programme in Ekiti State during Easter celebration this year.
Food items were distributed to vulnerable families in Ilumoba, Ijan, Ijesa-Isu and Aba Fatunla all in Ekiti State.
We shall set up charity shops to be called Parapo Charity Shop
The Planned Parapo Charity Shop, PCS is a project tailored to raise fund to support Ekiti Children who might be victims or who might be affected by the level of poverty in Southwest Nigeria. We also intend to support educational institutions with provision of water, supporting clean environment where young people learn, and organising educative seminars to enhance productive engagement of young people while preparing them as future leaders.
