All About

OIL IS WELL WITH US

Oil is well with us but…
Like the rain of golden grains
That pours into porous pots
The gains from our great wealth
Plundered by a cliques of marauders

Oil is well with us but…
Like dry leaves blown by the wind
Like a cornfield flushed by the flood
They eroded the hope of my people
And shatter the dreams of our youths

Oil is well with us but…
They masqueraded as change agents
Alas! Wolves they are in sheep coats
They milked dry the gracing cows
And  murdered the goose that laid the golden egg

Oil is not well…for…
They dig holes round our oil wells
And drain our crude oil into tanks backyard
They look down From their cedar haven
And spit lavishly on the poor in shanties

Oil is not well anymore…
They rig election to retain power forever
And kick against all who speak truth to power
With iron rods they rule to fix their foes
And brag around as if they own the world

But someday…Someway…Somehow

All will be well.
