The Ekiti people are renowned for their rich cultural heritage, and they take great pride in showcasing it. These are the words of Comrade Olamide Idowu-Adetifa, President of Ekiti Parapo UK, who shared the news with Ekiti News, UK, during an interview with our correspondent in London. He announced that he, along with some of the organisation’s executives, will be travelling to Manchester for an event on 1st February 2025, where Egbe Omo Ekiti in Manchester will be celebrating Ekiti culture.

It has been confirmed that Ekiti Parapo UK will be officially attending the event, as discussed during both the general and executive meetings.

Idowu emphasised that Ekiti Parapo in the UK is backing the event, a matter which was discussed with the Director-General of Ekiti State Diaspora Relations, Dr. Adeola Adeleye-Fasuba, during a recent meeting attended by the Chairman of the Ekiti Council of Obas, Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, Ajiboyede III, the Ojojudo of Ido-Ekiti. The online meeting also saw participation from leaders of Ekiti Kete in Canada and the United States. One of the key topics discussed was the possibility of adopting a unified name for all Ekiti Parapo organisations, though no definitive agreement was reached on this matter.

President Idowu confirmed that members of Ekiti Parapo UK from across Greater Manchester will be attending, and he looks forward to the privilege of meeting them.

He stated that under his leadership, Ekiti Parapo UK will continue to work together to promote unity and foster collaboration among Ekiti people in the United Kingdom, in alignment with the "Ekiti to the World" agenda of Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State.

Mr. Olamide Idowu added that the current Executive Committee of Ekiti Parapo UK has launched several key initiatives, including the ongoing devolution process of Ekiti Parapo in the UK and the digital registration of all Ekiti people, regardless of their place of residence.
